U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) invites you to participate in a stakeholder teleconference to discuss E-Verify’s latest customer service enhancement. Beginning September 8, 2013, E-Verify will replace the current Tentative Nonconfirmation (TNC) Notice and Referral Letter with the Further Action Notice and the Referral Date Confirmation.
An employee may receive a TNC if there is a record mismatch that needs to be resolved with either the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or the Social Security Administration (SSA) before E-Verify confirms the employee as work authorized. The new Further Action Notice notifies employees that a TNC has occurred and gives them the option to contest it with DHS or SSA and explains the steps the employee must take to resolve the record mismatch.
Additionally, once the employer refers the case to DHS or SSA, the new 1-page Referral Date Confirmation will be generated for the employer to give to their employee. The Referral Date Confirmation will include the deadline for the employee to contest the case.
During the engagement, USCIS subject matter experts will introduce this latest customer service enhancement, discuss how it increases efficiency for E-Verify users and supplements employee notifications, and answer questions from stakeholders.
